Summer Concerts 2018
‘Curtain Raiser’ – Choral Music from the world of Opera including works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky and Sullivan.
For our Claybrooke Concert we will also be joined by Jubilee Brass (details below)
Jubilee Brass was formed as recently as 2012 after five members of the Harborough Orchestra brass section decided to get together to play some quintet music. The players really enjoyed that initial rehearsal that they decided to continue as an ensemble.
To allow for more extensive arrangements the group has now expanded to 8 regular players with guest players invited to play with them if need be. They are fortunate to have many arrangements done especially for them by their trombonist John Clark, including most of the music featured in the concert.
The members of Jubilee Brass are all involved with other music groups which include The Harborough Band and The Harborough Orchestra.
Our concerts take place on Saturday 9th June at St Peter’s Church, Claybrooke Parva 7.30pm and Friday 22nd June at St Mary’s Church, Lutterworth 7.30pm
Tickets are £8 including a glass of wine or soft drink. Children under 16 are free.
